12.12A i have to be brief..natuyo nko....my highly recommended movies: "pulp fiction" and "memento"..saw both within the week but didn't get the chance to blog it..it'll get you thinking..because of these movies, i'm now a great fan of nonlinear plot lines on movies and of quentin tarantino (director and screenwriter of pulp)..watch it!!! =)
by the way, i now have a car..sweeet! =)...got it on the first day of the month (12/1)..but more about that next tym..gotta go..

yey pacquiao won..didnt watch it live coz mahal ang pay-per-view!!!haha..and the fight only lasted 3rounds, daw d sulit sa bayad sa pay-per-view..so wut i did was went to pacquiao's wiki page and every few minutes or so hit f5..=) read the result of the fight probably just a few seconds after they announced the win..then, watched the whole fight in youtube the next day..
loco roco =) my bro downloaded 3 demo versions of this game..i can officially say im addicted to this game and the songs?haha..sometimes i try to sing along to the songs while playing and this video is a great find coz now i can sing a long with the right words..

watched "a very long engagement" =)..there are a few familiar people in this movie..first of all jean-pierre jeunet, the director, is also the director of amelie and he is notorious for hiring the same people, actors,writers,cinematographers,etc. , in his movies..so it was no surprise to see audrey tatou in this movie too..dominique pinon who was in all of jeunut's film before is also in this film..he was the obsessed guy in the cafe in amelie..he's the uncle of audrey in this one...urbain cancelier played a priest in this movie; he was collignon, the grocer, in amelie..i bet there are more but i just didn't recognize them all..by the way, jodie foster is in this film..i didn't know she can speak french fluently but she did..she played a sort-a small part..
the second disc was a real treat..detailed making of the film and all other extra features..

borrowed new dvds in the lib..watched one of the dvds, central station (centro do brasil)..very touching movie..luv the ending..though twas sad..the saddest ending i saw in a long time..the other dvd i borrowed is memento..gotta watch it soon..
dl version two of lyrics plugin for windows media player..there's also a vesion for winamp..nothing for itunes..if you're tired of the psychedelic and sometimes an eye-sore visualization in wmp, try the lyrics plugin..usually you're saved lyrics in the advance tag editor is displayed at the lower part of the screen and only about three or four lines are displayed..this plugin lets you see the lyrics full screen(see the pic)..you hav 2 b online to use this plugin and each time u play a song, the lyrics are automatically displayed..based on what i read in their forums, they use a wiki type of editing the lyrics..ordinary citizens can edit and submit the corrected or missing lyrics of a song and i guess it's saved in their servers (i think they check it first..idunno)..luv this plugin..=)..now i can sing in french!haha..by the way the song i was listening to is from the soundtrack of moulin rouge..just wanted to try if they have lyrics for those and they did!

11.32A i luv a good bargain but i'll talk about that later but first..ma, pa and i went to circuit city and found tents outside the store..i thot, "ooooh! cool..they're selling tents"..when we got closer, there were people in it..sleeping in it!! i was so puzzled..it turns out they're lining up for the ps3 to be released tomorrow..they're camping outside of the store to buy a $600 game console?? (shrugs)i wudnt buy a $600 anything..myb i'll eat my words someday but ryt now i wudnt..
bout the bargain..found dvds on sale inside the store and bought 4 dvds..=)..usually dvds sell for 20bucks..the dvds we bought were 5bucks each..now, that's a price im willing to pay..
by the way, saw a zune (the new mp3 player by microsoft) inside the store and tinkered with it..it has this thing where the screen turns 90 degrees in video mode and back again in other modes like listening to music..
10.18P just finished watching csi..twas about twins..and mistaken identity..both of them were adopted..nobody knew they were twins (myb except their birth mother?)..warning: spoiler ahead!!
so the murderer shot the wrong twin, went to what he thinks is now the dead woman's house to steal her laptop and was shocked to see her walk in the house..he thought his conscience was making him see things..he killed her too..although the twins didn't know each other, they did and liked the same things..they both used the same dry cleaners, used the same brand of watch and used the same color of nail polish..they live close to each other and wud've met if they weren't killed..the other twin scheduled to teach a photography lesson at a skul and her other twin signed up for the class..

8.00P my mom bought a new digital camera today..been taking pictures..hehe..then uploaded the pics to the 'net..tried flickr, photobucket and multiply..multiply was the fastest and easiest coz of the drag and drop function..im new to flickr so im not sure if it's really that long to upload the pics..idunno..it said pics uploaded but processing..the processing part took so long...to see the pics i took (sa multiply xa) click here

1.00A yey, i get an extra hour of sleep tonight..=)..in about an hour, 2.00A, the time will adjust back one hour before..haha..im not making sense huh?..daylight saving time(dst) is exactly that..
all i know is that because of dst, the time after 1.59A will be 1.00A...so one a.m. will happen twice today..isn't that cool?and an advantage for all the people who want an extra hour of sleep..
since i have an extra hour to waste, i'll elaborate on the second item on my list from tuesday's post..this is gonna be a long entry..if you're life is boring, ride a bus(or lrt or any public transportation)..im serious..nothing is more exciting than doing that..haha..well, the fun and excitement doesn't happen everytime you ride the bus but when it happens, you'll have a blast!jowk..=D..i'll list it in the order that it happened..take note that it didn't happen on the same day!the first weird person i met on the bus was the lady bus driver of bus 23 westbound..i was riding the bus on my way to skul and everything seemed normal..the bus made its routine stop and a guy got on board..the bus driver totally freaked out..at first i didn't know what was happening and the bus driver kept yelling, "get off the bus!"..she got angry because the guy brought coffee in the bus..he threw away his cup but the irrational driver wanted him off the bus..the guy reasoned that he followed her rules..she was just crazy and threatened to call the police..i think there is a rule in the bus that says no food or drinks..i've eaten a whole sandwhich once or twice and of course brought drinks too but it didn't cause that reaction..poor guy..that was the first time i saw anybody get thrown off the bus..the second weird person i met was a black woman..i thought it was another ordinary lrt ride but the black woman made it more exciting..she was sitting across the aisle from me and a hispanic guy was sitting right behind her..the guy was talking in his cellphone in spanish in a very soft voice..i didnt know he was even talking to his cellphone until all of a sudden the black woman points at the guy and says, "your'e in my ear!you're lucky i didn't break your cellphone yet!"..not the exact words of the woman..i didn't put the profanities =) but im sure that's what she meant..the guy kept talking on his cell in an almost inaudible sound now..then, perfect timing, the lrt driver got out of her driving cubicle just in time to see the crazed woman shouting profanities..the driver tried to calm the woman and told her to transfer seats if she didn't want to hear the man talking..the driver was on her way to the door, i dont know why she wanted to get off..maybe she needed to stretch or to pee..anyhoo, the driver was barely out the door when the black woman stood up and punched the guy..nobody expected her to do that..the driver rushed back in and warned the woman to stop it or she'll call the police..the black woman was unstoppable..she shouted profanities and got off the train..everyone thought it was the end of it..but clearly the black woman didn't have enough and started punching the window of the train..nothing broke maybe except her arm thanks to the non-glass window..hehe..the third (and hopefully not the last) weird person i met was a guy in a wheelchair at the lrt station..when i saw him, he was saying something out loud that I and another guy didn't understand so we came closer..he wanted to give his ticket to us but we already bought our tickets..he seemed friendly and started chatting with us..he said he was an army police..im not sure if he was an army or a police or both or if there exists one..he said he fought in the vietnam war..im guessing that he was injured in the war and as a result can't walk..idk..he was divorced, loves to eat rice for breakfast and he's mexican-american..let's just say he talked a lot..haha..then it got a little bit weirder..he said he likes vietnamese women coz he saw a lot during the vietnam war and also other asian women..then he said i'll take you home with me right now if i can..that was freaky!i wud've started getting away but i figured he's in a wheelchair; i can outrun him if i want and im sure the other guy would do something if he does something threatening..but most of all i hope he was just kidding...my train arrived and thank god he didnt get on it too..

today is my niece's first birthday..=)..she had her party at a park..it was fun..lotsa food and lotsa people..i forgot to bring my cap so i now have a tan..hehe..im actually pale enough to have a tan..my cousin brought her dogs with her..we let the dogs loose in a baseball field and played with them for awhile..im too lazy and tired to add anything to this entry..ciao

9.44P watching "children of heaven"(Bacheha-Ye aseman, iranian title)..budlayan ko pangita sang subtitles..ang upod nya nga subtitles kay indi english..daw french 2 bala mo..hehe..ambot..nakita ko gd man ang english..i saw this in pisay pa..i think sa values education class..i barely remember what's the story about so im gonna watch it agen..all i can remmber is that it's about a boy who lost his sister's shoes..they're poor and cudn't afford to buy a new pair..the boy and his sister kept it a secret from their parents..
11.30P just finished watching it..i still love it..this film was nominated for an academy award for best foreign language film but lost to the italian film "life is beautiful" (i also recommend that movie)..ok, stop reading after this sentence if you don't want to know the ending (or other parts of the movie)..

love the part of the movie where the boy entered a race coz he wants to win a pair of sneakers for his sister..the only problem is that the shoes is a 3rd place prize..he won 1st place..=(..he was so disappointed he cried when they gave him his medal....the ending was so creative the way they showed it..no words were spoken, just pieces of scenes that ties the whole ending..scenes where the father was on his way home with their new shoes..the disappointed look of the sister when she saw that his brother didnt win the 3rd place (altho he did win 1st place..the point is he went home without the sneakers)..the boy taking off his shoes and socks revealing his swollen and blistered feet..basta go see it

9.40P not so sure with the time but anyhoo..saw a wicker park clip from efren's multiply..i wanna watch the movie agen..=)..it's a must-see film for all hopeless romantics out there, psychopaths, and anyone who's breathing..at first i thought it was a horror movie..haha..idunno, maybe it was the title..or the opening scene..if you like wicker park (or even if you haven't seen it), i recommend amelie..this one is harder to find, sort of, if you're not in the u.s. and want an original copy..i think it's also difficult to find a pirated copy..hehe..

11.24P i skipped posting last thursday and friday and spared you from wasting your time reading two days worth of crappy posts..hehe..i guarantee that today will still be a crappy post but i don't want to shock my avid readers (i mean no readers, mostly it's for me..i dont wanna shock me!) for not posting for more than a day..and also im trying to stop my obsession (ryt word?) with going online everyday..so far i've only seen negative effects from my obsession..here's what happened that triggered such action..if you read my posts before, you'll know that the fall quarter started last monday at my school..i have a habit of sitting on the very first row in all my classes (less distraction this way) usually the seat closest to the door (easy access to an exit for whatever reason i may need to leave a class ;) )..in all of my classes this week, i couldn't read what's on the board or read the transparencies on the projector..='(..it's a good thing that all my seatmates were kind enough to let me look over their shoulders and copy words i can't see..at other times i just guess the words or skip copying notes all together..y do i blame going online for my failing vision?because..when i go online, i stare and look at the computer screen for hours at a time..and have you ever experienced that after staring at a computer screen (or anything for that matter) at close range for a long time, when you look at things a little bit far away its blurry?and then its supposed to become clear..well, that's my problem..it never became clear..

9.15P If you were me, would you choose to go to school twice a week for 8 straight hours or everyday for 3hours each day? Never mind the one hour difference between the choices, its irrelevant. I chose the twice a week 8hour path. I’m not yet sure if it’s the right choice, we’ll see. The problem with it is that my 8-hour day starts at 12.30P so it ends at 8.30P.Way to late especially that winter is fast approaching and the sun will set at 5! Hay..i just got home and i'm ready to collapse on my bed..btw, the first few sentences have proper punctuations and all that jazz coz i typed it in word..haha..i was at the library in between my classes and decided to start my entry for today using my laptop (brought my laptop to skul) but didn't post it coz there's no wi-fi at skul (sob) ..i didn't like the red lines and stuff so i let word correct it..

11.20P Now that we moved, it takes me two hours to get to school if I commute (via a light rail and a bus ride), and thirty minutes to drive (via a freeway).
I'm ok with commuting, i even enjoy it, but it just takes too long to get to school. For me to arrive for my 12.30P class, i have to catch the 10.36A light rail, get off at Santa Clara and 2nd street and transfer to a bus and eventually arrive at skul at around 12.18P...almost 2 hours..im dead if i miss the sked for light rail or bus!
so y not drive?i dont have a car.=(.
i have to stay positive about this...at least it's just once a week!my dad drives me to and from school on mondays..im on my own going to skul on wednesday but he fetches me again after skul..

where should i begin?hmm..by now, u pro'ly know that today is my first day of skul..im warning huever will be reading my blog (probly only efren..hehe) that it's possible i wont update everyday..
1.04A i read my mini diary(mini coz it's small and thin)...the events i wrote in the mini diary(the mini is important!) happened approximately 2 years ago while i was a freshie in upv..the first entry was about the cheering victory party where a lot of secrets were revealed and many firsts happened..=D..i wont elaborate, except to say that i got two things out of this experience: new friends and an unexplained source of an allergy..later i found the source of the allergy and wrote about it in the mini (short for mini diary)..haha..of all the things to be allergic to, i'm allergic to beer..i dont know if it's because of the barley (found in most beers) or the alcohol..
10.30P the first day of school was not as bad as i thought it would be..there was a funny incident that happened today while i was at the bookstore..i was at the cashier to pay for a drink and a gum..yup, our bookstore sells food and drinks..anyhoo, when the cashier scanned my drink the price came up to be 3000 bucks..wut?i knew i was in a hurry but was i that careless that i grabbed a vintage wine or a bottle of rare rainwater from the sahara desert??the cashier was equally surprised..she scanned it again and it was the same thing..she ended up manually typing the price and my real total was 2 bucks..btw, if you're wondering, the gum was 99cents..

7.05P copied 4cds of backup files to my laptop(8 more to go?)..now i have pics and music (whee!)

10.04P im using my laptop..=)..kay-o na xa...im so happy..its super fast..i did a full recovery and lost all my data but i have backups..haha..yup, i copied more than 5gb worth of music, a bunch of files and a couple movies on about 18cds(no dvd writer on my laptop) before my laptop decided it doesn't want to open any programs and stop working..=)..i lost all my programs though =(..goodbye autocad, ym(but i downloaded it again), firefox(downloaded it again too), flash mx(huhu), adobe photoshop(huhu), utorrent(wink), and windows xp (its a good thing we have a cd)
gotta transfer my files back to my laptop tomorrow

12.22P i've been watching "part2" movies for the last three days..haha..today i saw Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous on dvd..part 1 was better..

8.07P watching cheaper by the dozen 2..the dvd extra feature is really disappointing..wla pulos..but the movie was fine..funny xa..and i didn't know that ashton kutcher is not on this film..he was the boyfriend of the eldest daughter in part 1..loved the dvd of part1(saw it a long time ago)..lots of behind the scenes and interviews..i expected the same in the part2 dvd..oh well.as i always say, that's life

10.00P watching kill bill vol.2..i have the weirdest movie-watching pattern..i saw the end first (just like fight club)..haha..it turns out that channel37 has a "kill bill weekend"..sorta like-a marathon of kill bill vol2 (vol1 was yesterday..didnt watch it yesterday but saw it a long time ago)..so after watching the end of vol.2, it starts all over again..ok, gtg..i'll watch the beginning..

what's amazing with this pic? you cant rilly see it but its hermes, a filipino restaurant, (ang may namit nga lechon kawali) across the street..and more amazing is it's a different town from where i was standing taking this pic and where hermes is..you can think of the road as a border between milpitas (where i was standing) and san jose (where hermes is)..

i never noticed this before but edward norton's character never mentions his name..they simply refer to him as the narrator in the cast list..this reminds me of the movie my sassy girl-imdb link/ wiki link,where they never mentioned the name of Ji-hyun Jun's character in the whole film..another interesting info 'bout my sassy girl is that hollywood plans to remake this film..it'll start production next month..i don't know if i should feel excited or pissed..my sassy girl(the original) is a classic! they better do a good job..

speaking of remakes, The Lake House (2006) starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock was also a remake of a korean film Siworae(korean title)-imdb link/ Il Mare (international title)-wiki link..i haven't seen the lake house (hopefully soon) but i saw il mare..ji-hyun jun from my sassy girl is also in this movie..

2.17A gawd!im sleepy..there's nothing more annoying than to start your day waiting for the washer and dryer to finish..why didn't i think it was a bad idea to start the laundry at 11pm?crazy me..oh well..lesson learned..
2.21A laundry's not done yet..but i just have to post this..i found this great ice cream place while at the mall 3 days ago..i just remembered it while browsing the photos in my cellphone
i never thought i'd find an orange flavor ice cream!!!gotta try it next tym..haha..

1.14P tried the salmon recipe my cousin taught us..i rarely eat fish but i can eat this everyday!..this is one of the easiest things i cooked and you only need three ingredients..the salmon - fillet, mayo, and onion recipe and dip mix (pictured below)

1. put the salmon in a baking pan
2. cover the salmon with a very thin layer of mayo
3. sprinkle the onion recipe and dip mix
4. it should look like the picture below..

5. bake..i dont know for how long or at what temperature..haha..but it didnt take too long
6. eat!









11.00P just finished watching the gods must be crazy part1..and it was crazy!and funny at the same time...although i thought it was a bit racist and unfair..they portrayed africans as stupid and ignorant..anything for a good laugh..and more money for the film makers..
the special features from the dvd was a real treat..about ten years after the film was made, they went back to africa and looked for "N!xau", the main character. yup, that's his name..i have no idea how to pronounce that or how they came up with that spelling..isn't it cool? to have a "!" in your name?..anyways, they found him and he was so poor..i cant help but think that the film makers took advantage of him..another ten years later and after more films (he starred in parts 2-5!, he was doing quite well..but he had tuberculosis and died after a few years..well, that's life..you don't get to say "and they lived happily ever after"
